Feasibility study for a 200 seat ‘outdoor’ or ‘temporary’ cinema arts space within a tight urban gap site, having the potential to both inform a new public square and signify an arts centre to a thriving shopping street. A number of place-making alternatives were evaluated around the possibilities of structure, interventions for enclosure, definition of space and security, weather protection, permanence and impermanence. All seating would be demountable for easy adaptation to creative indoor/outdoor lab space. Design 2015.
